Dear Guests;
The importance of soil to humanity plays a vital role in many areas such as agriculture, ecosystems, water cycle and biodiversity. Soil is a fundamental resource for plant growth and is critical for food production, biodiversity conservation, water retention and filtration, and the provision of ecosystem services. As one of the fundamental components of sustainable agriculture, it is extremely important to maintain the health of the soil, increase its fertility and prevent erosion.
As the Department of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition, we carry out important studies. As a department, we conduct research on soil fertility, plant nutrition, soil management, fertilization techniques and soil health and train our students in these areas.
We aim to contribute to the spread of more efficient, sustainable and environmentally friendly practices in the agricultural sector through research and training activities that we conduct in accordance with the changing needs of the sector. Our academics in our department follow innovations in the sector, transfer up-to-date information to our students and train qualified graduates who are suitable for the needs of the sector.
We expect you to visit our website and contact us to introduce our department's work and share developments in the sector. You can access detailed information about the projects we carry out, the research and educational activities on our department's website.
Best regards. Prof. Dr. Sabit ERŞAHİN Head of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition Department
